Teachers, how many times have you heard “It must be nice to have the summers off?” As a teacher, I am aware of the many different jobs teachers take during the summer to make end meets. Over the next few weeks, we hope to interview teachers about the different summer jobs they have held over the years.

1. Become a Tutor: Set your own hours and hourly rate. It is a low-stress way to make up to $5,000 a year.
2. Be a “Teacher Ranger” at Gettysburg National Military Park: What a great opportunity to follow a passion.
3. Teach Summer School: This is a great option for many teachers, however if a teacher needs to recharge the batteries, it might be best to take a break from teaching students.
4. Work for Coach Up: A company that connects coaches with local athletes looking to work one-on-one with a private coach!
5. Teach Driver’s Education: This is a great option for many teachers. Spend some driving hours with young drivers. Don’t forget to have your foot ready to step on the break.
6. Work at a Summer Fair, like the Marshfield Fair! Long hours, but a great way to earn extra cash for the last 2 weeks of the summer.
7. Work at an Overnight Summer Camp: A great chance to experience nature and work with students outside of a traditional classroom. Awesome for teachers with no family commitments.
