Letter of the Week – V v
During the week, please learn to identify this letter, it’s sound, and formation. At home, please make a list of words that begin with this letter.
Also identify the high frequency words “do,” “not,” and “what.”
V v Activities
- Smell vanilla.
- Run very fast.
- Count the vehicles on your street or in your driveway.
- Talk in a very soft voice.
- Write the letter V.
- Sing in a very loud voice.
- Taste a vegetable. What color was it?
- Visit a friend.
- Try smelling vinegar. Do you like it?
- Crawl very slowly.
- Make a V with your arms.
Activity: Play this game. Make a “YES” and “NO” card. Say, “I am going to say a word, listen carefully to it. If you think the word starts with the /v/ sound, hold up your “YES” card. If you think the word does NOT start with the /v/ sound, hold up your “NO” card.”
Word List: vegetables, vanilla, chocolate, vase, flower, visit, volcano, moon, valley, vine, jaguar, cat.
