National Geographic has a great activity to reinforce a unit on Lewis and Clark called “Go West Across America with Lewis & Clark.” It is a quick 15 minute interactive journey. Students will read and make decisions that Lewis and Clark faced.
For many of the slides, there are icons that provide additional information. The icons are “Do you know?” and “Journal.” The are no questions on the following worksheet related to the icons, however I will probably add some in the future.
The following information can be shared in a google.doc.
Today you are going to complete an interactive journey called “Go West Across America with Lewis & Clark.” There are questions that you will need to answer along the way. Follow the directions they should be pretty clear. If you have any questions, raise your hand and I will try to assist you.
1. Make a Copy of this document, save it as your initials, Lewis & Clark.
2. Click on the following link: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/west/main.html “Go West Across America with Lewis & Clark.”
3. Answer the questions to the best of your ability.
When starting the activity, enter your first name.
As you complete the activity, read the “Did you Know!” and “Journal.” You are responsible for the information in these sections, even though there are no specific questions.

2. What did you take for supplies? Why?
3. How will you get most of your food?
4. What year is it?
5. Explain your interaction with the Native American Tribe (include their name).
6. How is the Indian Dilemma resolved?
7. Which fork is the best option? Why?
8. Explain the reasons for picking the path that was chosen.
