The Historic 1699 Winslow House and Cultural Center is located at 634 Careswell Street in Marshfield. The original part of the house, built at the turn of the eighteenth century, was the ancestral home of the Winslow Family—descendants of the Mayflower pilgrim Edward Winslow. The house is now a museum and cultural center with educational public programs and events all summer. The house is owned and operated by the Historic Winslow House Associates, a 501c(3) non-profit organization.
The first event of the 2013 season is the Winslow Sprint, a 43.5-mile bicycle race through Marshfield, Duxbury and Scituate. The race will take place on Sunday, May 5th at 9am. Registration begins at 7am. After the race, participants are invited to a fabulous lobster boil that will be held in the back yard from 1 to 4 in the afternoon. Entertainment will be provided by Peter Mundt.  This event is a fundraiser to support the maintenance, preservation and programs of the Winslow House, and the $200 sign-up fee is tax-deductible!
