Extrinsic motivation is a great way to encourage performance in many students. For some of the class activities, a “Hall of Fame” for the top performances can create be a useful tool to enhance the learning experience. One activity that has a “Hall of Fame” is the quarter catching activity.
When possible, have list for the current year, a yearly list of top performances, and an overall “Hall of Fame.” Post the scores for an extended period of time. (I apologize for the format being out of line.)
